Madison Haley scored twice as Brighton came from behind to stun title-chasing Manchester City 3-2 in a thrilling Women’s Super League clash over the weekend.
How Madison Haley and Brighton Turned the Tables on City
Manchester City made the brighter start, with Kerolin firing the visitors into an early lead. The title favourites continued to look well in control for much of the first half, but Brighton refused to back down.
Against the run of play, American forward Madison Haley pulled the hosts level in first-half stoppage time, finishing coolly and giving Brighton a lifeline heading into halftime.

Brighton carried that momentum into the second half, and Kiko Seike put them ahead with a stunning near-post finish just after the restart. Haley then netted her second of the afternoon, reacting quickest to a rebound in the box to make it 3-1.
Khadija Shaw pulled one back late on to set up a nervy finish, but Brighton held on to secure all three points.
What Does This Mean for the WSL Title?
The defeat leaves Andree Jeglertz’s City side still needing 5 points from their final two games to win a first WSL title since 2016. They face Liverpool on Sunday 3 May, before heading to London for a final-day clash with West Ham on Saturday 16 May.
