London City Lionesses have continued their summer of signings, with Spain U20 Midfielder Daniela Arques joining the ranks.
Subject to international clearance, the 20-year-old will be heading to London from Sporting Clube de Portugal.
Daniela Arques Looks Set to Build on Her Early Career Successes
Daniela Arques started her career with Spanish club SMX Athletic Club de Murcia, where she played from 2016 to 2021.
She then joined Alhama CF, breaking into the senior ranks and gaining valuable minutes while still a teenager. Her performances earned her a move to Levante UD in 2023.

After spending her early career in Spain, Daniela Arques joined Sporting in July 2025. She played 32 games and provided three assists in the year she was there.
Arques also has an array of international credentials to her name. She was part of the Spanish squad which took victory in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament in 2022, and went on to become a two-time UEFA European Women’s U19 champion in both 2024 and 2025.
Arques Will Link Up With Eder Maestre
“I’m really excited to be joining London City and can’t wait to get started,” said Daniela Arques on her big move.
“Coming to the UK to play in the WSL is a brilliant opportunity, and I’m looking forward to developing as a player and as a person.
“Being surrounded by experienced players and learning from them every day is something I’m really excited about.”
Arques will now play alongside fellow summer signings Alexia Putellas – a two-time Ballon d’Or winner – and ex-Barcelona defender Mapi Leon, while being managed by her new Spanish boss Eder Maestre.
