Barça Femení claimed a 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, securing the club’s fifth consecutive Joan Gamper Trophy in front of more than 3,000 spectators.
Barcelona Were Quick Off The Mark
Barcelona took the lead inside seven minutes, when a pass from new first team captain Patri Guijarro found Esmee Brugts, who controlled the ball with her head before neatly slotting it inside the post.
Brighton responded quickly with Kiko Seike rifling home a powerful shot at the near post in the 12th minute.
However, the score didn’t remain level for long, and Barça Femení were back in control just 10 minutes later. Clàudia Pina restored Barça’s lead on 22 minutes, latching onto another long pass from Guijarro before finishing into the far corner.
Caroline Graham Hansen then made it 3-1 just after the half-hour mark, surging forward on the counterattack before finishing low.
New Signings Get minutes in the Joan Gamper Trophy
This was fans’ first proper look at Barça’s 2026/27 squad, with new signings Kerolin, McCamey and Martina all featuring.
McCamey made her debut in goal after coming on as a half-time sub and produced two key saves in the second half, while Kerolin got her maiden minutes on the right wing.
Several academy players, including Maysa, Elena and Carolina, were also given game time late on.
Barça Now Looks Ahead to the League Season
With the Joan Gamper Trophy secured for a fifth straight year, Pere Romeu’s side now turn their attention to the Liga F opener against Tenerife on 30 August, which will also take place at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
