It’s recently been revealed that Alisha Lehmann – arguably the world’s most famous female footballer – is dating Montel McKenzie.
Here’s how a shared connection through the Baller League led to football’s newest power couple.
Who is Alisha Lehmann?
Alisha Lehmann is a Swiss forward/winger with over 60 international caps to her name.
Having previously spent six years playing for Everton, West Ham, and Aston Villa in the UK WSL, Lehmann signed for Juventus and then FC Como before returning to the English footballing pyramid with Leicester City Women in this year’s January transfer window.
She’s probably as famed for her off-pitch social media presence as her on-field skills, and is the world’s most followed female football player on the planet, with over 16 million followers on Instagram alone.
27-year-old Lehmann is also a coach in the Baller League, where she leads MVPs United – for whom Montel McKenzie plays – alongside Maya Jama.
Who is Montel McKenzie?
Montel McKenzie has twice headed to the Love Island villa, starring in the 10th series of the reality TV show in 2023 before a stint on the All Stars edition in 2025.
As well as playing for Lehmann and Jama’s team in the Baller League, McKenzie is also a semi-pro wing back for Folkestone Invicta.
What is the Baller League?
The UK Baller League is a fast-paced, fun football league which combines short matches with music, entertainment, celebs, and sporting personalities. Teams are often led by football legends, celebrities, and content creators – just like Lehmann and Jama.
