Olivia Holdt opened her account for the 2026/27 season in emphatic fashion on Sunday afternoon, helping herself to a hat-trick as Tottenham put seven past Crystal Palace without reply.
With the scores level at the interval, Holdt lit up the second half, netting on 49, 61 and 73 minutes to open the floodgates.
Now in her second full season in North London, the Danish winger continues to dazzle with her technical quality and elite range of finishing.
Here are five facts about one of the WSL’s great entertainers.
1) Olivia Holdt Started Her Career in Her Native Denmark
Olivia Holdt played youth football with Vildbjerg SF before launching her senior career with then-Danish Women’s League outfit VSK Aarhus in 2019.
She then signed for Fortuna Hjørring in 2020, where she spent two seasons, winning the Player of the Year award in 2020/21.
Her goals and performances earned her a professional contract with FC Rosengård in Sweden.
Over her two-year spell, Holdt helped the club win the league twice, scoring 25 goals and drawing the attention of plenty of clubs across the globe.
Tottenham ended up securing her services in January 2025, initially tying her down until 2027. That contract has since been extended off the back of some dazzling displays in the WSL.
2) She’s a Regular International
Olivia Holdt hasn’t just impressed on the domestic circuit. She’s represented Denmark at U16, U17, U19, U23 and full international level, scoring plenty of goals along the way.
Her senior debut came in April 2021, when she stepped off the bench to replace Signe Bruun against the Republic of Ireland.
Since then, she’s racked up a total of 10 appearances for Denmark, scoring two goals, including an important equaliser just minutes after coming off the bench to secure a 1-1 draw with Italy in their 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier in March.
3) She Was Among Last Season’s WSL Top Scorers
Holdt enjoyed a very productive first full season in the WSL. She finished joint seventh in the overall scoring charts alongside Brighton’s Kiko Seike, netting eight times, with none of those efforts penalties.
That tally put the 25-year-old in very fine company indeed. In fact, only Kerolin, Vivianne Miedema, Stina Blackstenius, Kirsty Hanson, Alessia Russo and Khadija Shaw scored more than her in the league.
4) She Was Shortlisted for the WSL Player of the Season Award
Holdt’s breakout season in the WSL didn’t go unnoticed.
Her tricky wing play and knack for popping up in the right places earned her a nomination for the WSL Player of the Season Award alongside Kerstin Casparij, Khadija Shaw, Kirsty Hanson, Ruby Mace, Jess Park, Alessia Russo and Alyssa Thompson.
Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw proved the eventual winner, but even being shortlisted shows just how impressive Holdt was for Tottenham.
5) Holdt is Only the Second Player to Net a WSL Hat-Trick For Tottenham
As Spurs put Crystal Palace to the sword, Olivia Holdt became just the second player in history to score a WSL hat-trick for Tottenham.
She joins Martha Thomas in the record books, who bagged three against Aston Villa in October 2023.
