If you haven’t heard of N’Sira Safi yet, we’re willing to bet she’ll catch your attention very soon.
Chelsea have their sights firmly set on the 17-year-old footballing sensation – and with the impact she’s made on both women’s and boys’ football alike, it’s easy to see why.
Here are 3 facts you should know about the Ivorian forward. Store these in your back pocket for when she’s a full-blown superstar!
1) She Once Made History in a Boys’ Tournament
In July 2025, N’sira Safi did something that very few female players have ever done: she made her mark in a boy’s tournament.
Playing for the Right to Dream Academy at the Gothia Cup in Sweden, Safi stepped onto the pitch at one of the world’s most prestigious youth footballing events.
She made her debut in a group stage match against Derby Football Club before going on to score a crucial goal against Landskrona, helping her side to a 2-1 victory.
2) She Grew Up Playing in Men’s Football
It’s no surprise that Safi can hold her own against the boys – she spent most of her childhood playing football with adult men.

She has been playing men’s football in her community since she was young, and credits that environment with shaping her game.
3) N’sira Safi Has Already Had an International Call-Up
Before her 18th birthday, N’sira Safi received a call-up to the Ivory Coast squad for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
However, the tournament was unfortunately cancelled at short notice, so Safi didn’t get to demonstrate her prowess on the international stage.
But the call-up alone speaks volumes about where her career is undoubtedly heading – and we’re sure she’ll get her chance to play for her country very soon.
