Everything You Need to Know About Cathinka Tandberg

Cathinka Tandberg, known affectionately as ‘Tinka’, was born on 18th June, 2004 in Oslo, Norway.

Since her move to the WSL with Spurs in September 2025, Cathinka has become a fan favourite and made a notable mark on the league.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Norwegian star.

Her professional career began in her teens

Cathinka Tandberg’s journey to becoming a WSL sensation began at Norwegian side Heming.

She then transferred to Stabaek before securing a move to Lyn in the Toppserien (Norway’s top flight), where the then 16-year-old forward spent two years and scored 5 goals.

She spent a spell in Sweden

In 2023, Cathinka Tandberg moved from her native Norway to Sweden to join Linköpings FC in the Damallsvenskan, Sweden’s top women’s league.

She made a major impact from day one, scoring 19 league goals in the 2023 season – a feat which earned her the Damallsvenskan Golden Boot as top scorer.

In total, across her time with Linköping, she scored 22 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions.

These performances marked her as one of the brightest young attackers in Scandinavian football and drew interest from bigger clubs in Europe.

She headed to Hammarby IF before the WSL

Cathinka moved to Stockholm to join Hammarby IF midway through the 2024 campaign, where she scored regularly and made crucial contributions in both domestic and European games.

During her productive spell at the Swedish side, she made 37 appearances and scored 19 goals, including 5 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Her debut month in the Barclays Women’s Super League was nothing short of sensational. In her first start, she scored a remarkable 40-yard lob against Everton, which was later voted Tottenham’s September Goal of the Month.

She has continued her impressive introduction with multiple goals and an early nomination for the WSL Player of the Month award, quickly establishing herself as a key attacking threat for Spurs.

She rose through the Norwegian national ranks

Cathinka represented Norway at multiple youth levels, featuring for the U15s, U16s, U19s and U23s.

It was as an U19 that her talent really shone through, as she found the back of the net 11 times for her country.

She earned her first senior call-up and made her senior international debut against France in October 2023, coming on as a substitute in UEFA Nations League competition.

Since then, she has accumulated several senior caps for the Norway women’s national team, though she is still seeking her first senior international goal.
