Mary Earps is edging closer to a return to the Women’s Super League, with London City Lionesses emerging as the frontrunners to sign the former England goalkeeper when her Paris Saint-Germain contract expires this summer.
Could Mary Earps be Back in England Next Season?
33-year-old Mary Earps was on the bench for PSG’s 1-0 play-off semi-final defeat against Paris FC on Saturday, May 16, fuelling speculation that her time in France is coming to an end.
She made 22 appearances in the Premiere Ligue this season, keeping 12 clean sheets, but PSG finished third – 13 points behind champions Lyon – and sources indicate she is likely to leave when her deal expires in June.

Now, London City Lionesses have been heavily linked with Earps as they look to build on a steady debut WSL campaign that saw them finish sixth.
Club sources say an agreement has not been reached, but there is optimism surrounding their summer recruitment drive. The club has also been linked with Barcelona defender Mapi Leon and England winger Beth Mead.
Mary Earps is One of the Best Goalies in the Game
Earps is widely regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in the history of the women’s game.
A two-time FIFA Best Goalkeeper of the Year, she played a pivotal role in England’s Euro 2022 triumph and their run to the 2023 World Cup final.
She spent five years at Manchester United, making over 100 appearances and helping them lift the Women’s FA Cup in 2024, before joining PSG in July of that year.
