Newly promoted Crystal Palace have signed prolific goalscorer Bethany England.
The 32-year-old joins on a two-year deal – with the option of a further year – and will wear the number 9 shirt.
A Solid Signing for Crystal Palace
Bethany England is a proven goalscorer and has a habit of finding the back of the net wherever she goes.
During seven years at Chelsea, she scored 74 goals in 164 appearances, winning four league titles and two FA Cups.
Her standout 2019/20 season saw her net 21 goals in all competitions, including the winner in that year’s Continental League Cup final.
She also netted in 9 consecutive WSL games that season – a record that still stands today.
She joined Tottenham in January 2023, and, true to form, scored on her debut. She went on to become the club’s Player of the Season despite only being with them for half the campaign.
She was later made club captain, leading Spurs to their first-ever FA Cup final and a first win over local rivals Arsenal.
England left Tottenham this summer as their all-time leading WSL goalscorer, with 32 league goals for the club.
Bethany England is One of the All-Time WSL Greats
Across her career, Bethany England has scored 87 WSL goals, a tally bettered only by Manchester City’s Vivianne Miedema.
She’s also passed 200 WSL appearances, become one of just four players to score a “perfect” hat-trick in the competition, and is the first player to score more than 25 goals for two different WSL clubs.

“Palace are an ambitious club. They’ve been in the WSL before, they’ve had two amazing promotions now, and I think you can see their investment in the Women’s game. They’re really pushing to want to be amongst the best, and they’ve got amazing facilities.”
