Did You Know These Fun Facts About Manchester City’s Kerolin Nicoli?
Chelsea’s quest for a seventh-consecutive WSL title is all but over after they were on the receiving end of a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City last weekend.
And, while 3 different scorers claimed City’s 5 goals, it was hat-trick hero Kerolin Nicoli who grabbed the headlines thanks to her demolition job of the Chelsea defence.
Not only is she a fan-favourite here in the UK, but she’s also an international trailblazer. Here are three things you might not know about the Brazilian superstar.
1) NICOLI WAS THE NWSL MVP IN 2023
Kerolin made history in 2023 when she became the first-ever South American player to claim the division’s highest possible accolade of MVP.

In doing so, she also became North Carolina Courage’s first NWSL MVP.
2) HER CAREER HAS BEEN MULTI-CONTINENTAL
Aged just 26 – she was born in São Paulo, Brazil, on 17 November 1999 – Kerolin Nicoli has already played in top leagues in four different countries: Brazil, Spain, the USA, and now England.
3) SHE’S AN OLYMPIC MEDALLIST
Nicoli played a pivotal role for Brazil at the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping the team secure a silver medal.
She appeared in all five of Brazil’s matches, with her most notable contribution coming in the semi-final against Spain, where she scored a stoppage-time goal and helped send Brazil into the final, gold-medal match.
Ultimately, they narrowly lost 1-0 to the United States, but Nicoli returned from Paris as an official Olympic medalist.
