Huge Crowds Set to Gather for England’s Euros Homecoming Event in Central London
England have planned a mega Homecoming event in central London to celebrate the defence of their European crown.
Sarina Wiegman’s side brought it home — again — and now they’re returning to UK soil to enjoy the trophy with fans.
Here’s what you need to know, including key timings and travel tips.
England’s Homecoming Event: When and Where?
The history-making Lionesses fly home from Switzerland this afternoon, ready for the party to commence on Tuesday, 29 July.
The Homecoming event — jointly organised by the FA and the UK Government — will begin with an open-top bus procession along The Mall in London, before culminating in a staged ceremony in front of the Queen Victoria Memorial at Buckingham Palace.

Here are the key timings to keep in mind:
- 12.10pm – The Homecoming event starts with an open-top bus procession along The Mall
- 12.30pm – Players and staff will take to the stage at the Queen Victoria Memorial
- 1.00pm – The Homecoming celebration is due to finish
The event won’t be ticketed and is free to attend for anyone wanting to congratulate the nation’s heroes on their latest international triumph.
How to Watch the Homecoming Event at Home
It’s a tight turnaround from England’s heart-stopping penalty shootout victory over Spain on Sunday, and as such, there will be plenty of broadcasters covering the parade so that fans outside of the capital don’t miss out.
BBC, ITV and Sky will all be streaming the festivities live between 12pm and 1pm. No doubt there’ll also be extensive news coverage to catch up on if you can’t get the afternoon off work.
Getting There
Several road closures will be in place around St James’s Park to facilitate the bus tour and expected crowds. Bus diversions and the closure of Cycleway 3 within St James’s Park will also be in effect between 7am and 6pm.
Using public transport is advised, with the following stations offering the best access to The Mall:
- Green Park (London Underground)
- Piccadilly Circus (London Underground)
- Victoria (London Underground, National Rail)
- Westminster (London Underground)
- Charing Cross (London Underground, National Rail)
If you’re heading down, allow more time than usual for your journey and always check the latest travel updates.
Step-free access is only available via the following stations:
- Green Park (London Underground – Jubilee and Victoria lines only)
- Victoria (London Underground)
- Westminster (London Underground)
Facilities & What to Bring
Water refill points and toilets are located in St James’s Park. More information can be found [here].
Litter and recycling bins will line the route, as will first aid points. Flags, whistles and horns are encouraged, while flares, fireworks, tents and camping chairs are strictly prohibited.

Organisers have also asked fans to avoid bringing glass bottles where possible.
What’s the Weather Forecast?
Highs of 21 degrees are expected on Tuesday, 29 July. Light rain is also a possibility around the time of the Homecoming event, so be sure to pack for all conditions.
Rain or shine, there’s no doubt England fans will be out in their droves to welcome back the champions of Europe.
