Celtic Women FC Triumph in Scottish Women’s Premier League

Celtic FC Women won the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) title in a historic and unforgettable moment on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The celebration took place in front of over 7000 ecstatic supporters at Celtic Park, where Amy Gallacher’s last-minute winner secured the championship and shattered Rangers’ hopes.

The match was no doubt a tough one, with fan favourite Natasha Flint enduring a frustrating afternoon against Hibernian, her usual goal-scoring touch seemingly out of reach.  Celtic fans know all too well the power Natasha Flint possesses; her two spells at the club are a testament to that.

While she’s facing some challenges with her form at the moment, her double against Hearts reminds us of her capabilities. Also, let’s not forget Hibs’s impressive defence during the final game. With the pressure of the title race behind her, we can expect Flint to rediscover her scoring touch and become a key player again.

This brings us to Lucy Ashworth-Clifford and her contract extension, which was a stroke of genius. The defender was recovering brilliantly from an ACL injury; with her dribbling and positioning, she’s transformed Celtic’s defence.

The woman of the match was Amy Gallacher, whose season was nothing short of phenomenal. Her staggering 44 goals and assists in 30 league appearances speak volumes about her impact.

Also, the last-minute strike against Rangers wasn’t just a game-winner; it was a testament to her astonishing performance under pressure. Why she’s not yet on the Scotland squad remains a head-scratcher. Thankfully, Celtic secured her future with a contract extension, solidifying her place as an important player for years.

Celtic Women FC’s SWPL win is a great achievement, laying the groundwork for continued dominance. The prospect of Champions League football adds another layer of excitement to the journey. The Girls deserved this win, showing their unity, talent, and determination.
